Originally, the gandoura mozabite was worn as a ceremonial garment for the man at his wedding. It is characterized by its extremely fine weave, its structure is symmetrical around a central strip of red and black bands on which to stand out of the symbolic motifs : comb pack, grain couscous, or grenades, safety deposit box of the bride and her jewelry, candlesticks... Their layout on the carpet depend on the inspiration of the artist and are framed by narrow strips of transition : herringbone, sickles... One cannot but admire the dexterity of those who carrying it out.
